JLN wins double recognition at West Midlands Regional Energy Efficiency Awards 2026
What started as an ordinary Thursday evening became a milestone for our team. On Thursday 12th February, JLN attended the West Midlands Regional Energy Efficiency Awards at the Holiday Inn, Birmingham Airport — and returned with two awards. This double recognition highlights our ongoing focus on quality renewable heating installations and outstanding customer delivery.
Our awards
- New Build or Renovation Project of the Year — Highly Commended
- Renewable Heat Installer and Contractor of the Year — Commended
These honours are the result of sustained investment in training, technical standards and project delivery across the West Midlands.
Why these awards matter
The Energy Efficiency Awards, now in their 12th year, celebrate organisations and individuals making tangible improvements in energy efficiency and carbon reduction. As Awards Chairman Gary Braybrooke observed, "The organisations and individuals recognised through these awards are operating in a period of real uncertainty in the sector. Despite that, they continue to deliver, to innovate and to hold standards high. That matters."
That sentiment reflects the landscape we operate in: rapid technological developments, shifting regulations and evolving customer expectations. For us, success means combining innovation with reliable, practical delivery — and these awards recognise both.
What the judges were looking for
The judging panel assessed entries on practical impact, customer service, workmanship and community benefit. In the Renewable Heat Installer category they sought evidence of high-quality installations that qualify for the government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme, strong aftercare, and best practice in the local community.
For New Build or Renovation Project of the Year, judges evaluated the scale and complexity of projects, integration of energy efficiency measures, and the value delivered to homeowners. Being Highly Commended in that category demonstrates our capability to deliver technically demanding projects that genuinely improve comfort and reduce carbon.
Our technical strengths and accreditations
Technical competence underpins everything we do. Our accreditations and partnerships have allowed us to deliver reliable, high-performing systems:
- Heat Geek certification — ensuring best practice and excellent customer support for heat pump installations
- Vaillant Advance Heat Pump installer status — showing manufacturer-level competence and quality standards
- Unico System Specialist Partner accreditation — enabling seamless integration of advanced heating systems
On several projects we have achieved impressive coefficients of performance (COPs) of 4.4 and higher, reflecting system design and commissioning that prioritise efficiency and customer benefit.
Delivering complex projects with care
Whether integrating Unico System solutions with Vaillant heat pumps or designing bespoke heating systems for non-standard properties, our emphasis is on meticulous planning, transparent communication and thorough aftercare. These practices minimise disruption on site and deliver long-term performance for customers.
Recognition from the event
Event organiser Kenneth Campbell summed up the purpose of the awards: recipients have "delivered commitment to improving energy efficiency and carbon savings, and their hard work in reinforcing the standards the sector will need as delivery scales up is recognised." That recognition is a clear endorsement of the standards our team upholds every day.
